ACT Triathletes Make Their Mark at World Multisport Championships in Townsville

The World Multisport Championships in Townsville witnessed a remarkable display of talent and community spirit from ACT triathletes. Leading the way was Georgie Hicks, who competed in four events and claimed the title of World Champion in the 30-34 age group for the Sprint Duathlon. Her relentless determination and commitment have made her a shining example of excellence in our community.

Equally inspiring was Peter Simfendorfer, who truly exemplified the heart and soul of ACT Triathlon. Not only did Peter compete in the Sprint Duathlon, but he also dedicated the remainder of the championships to volunteering as a Technical Official. His dual role as both a competitor and volunteer reflects the deep-rooted commitment within our community to support one another and ensure the success of our sport at every level.

The championships were also a testament to the strong community spirit that defines ACT Triathlon. Athletes from all our clubs rallied together, not just to compete, but to support each other in every possible way. This unity and collective effort highlight the vibrant and supportive environment that ACT clubs foster, where every member’s contribution is valued, whether on the race course or behind the scenes.

The overwhelming presence of ACT clubs in Townsville serves as a reminder of the strength and connection within our triathlon community. Congratulations to all the athletes who competed and represented the ACT with such distinction. Your achievements have once again brought pride to our region, showcasing the power of a united community.

As we celebrate these successes, we look forward to continuing to build on this momentum in the upcoming season, with even more opportunities for our athletes to shine on the national and international stage.
