About the event: Canberra’s flagship duathlon event returns to Stromlo Forest Park for another epic day of racing and community spirit. From eager first-timers to seasoned contenders chasing national honours, everyone has a place on the start line. Not participating? Volunteer for the event here. All ACT members can earn points for their club by volunteering!
Race menu
- Kids Duathlon (7-12) – a fun, scaled-down course designed just for young athletes.
- Sprint Duathlon (Draft legal) – fast, friendly distances ideal for newcomers or speed-hunters.
- Standard Distance Duathlon (Non-draft legal) – the marquee Australian Standard Duathlon Championship race.
- 5km & 10km Trail Run – for friends, family and run-only participants who want to share the action.
Why race the Capital Duathlon?
- National Prestige – crowns the ACT’s premier duathlon champions while doubling as the Australian Standard Duathlon Championships. Australian Championship titles will be awarded to first, second and third placed eligible athletes in the standard category. To be eligible for the Australian Championships titles athletes must hold a current AusTriathlon Standard or Premium membership by Thursday midnight prior to the event.
- Pathway to Abu Dhabi 2026 – designated as a selection race for the Australian Age-Group Multisport Team heading to the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championships in Abu Dhabi. A strong result here can secure your chance to wear the green-and-gold on the world stage. More info here.
- All abilities welcome – from first-time adventurers to elite age-groupers, there’s a distance and atmosphere to match your goals.
